And David spoke to the men that stood by him, saying, what shall be done to the man that kills this Philistine, and takes away the reproach from Israel? for who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God? 1 Samuel 17: 26 KJV
Some Christians are easily cowed by the powerless and defeated satan, that is why we are encouraged to know His words and understand His ways, because the knowledge of God’s word terminates fear of whatever kind, David was someone that knew that God can do anything, His knowledge and total dependence on God during his time is what earned him the favorite name that God called him; “a man after His own heart” 1 Samuel 13:14; this mentality that David had about God is what introduced him to Saul in 1 Samuel 17:31, and eventually brought him to the top. Get yourself filled with the word of God, like David it will give you audacity and confidence to dare what others are running away from. The word of God in David made him to speak with so much authority and audacity and he refused to let his heart fail because of Goliath and encouraged his countrymen to do likewise, to him if God can protect him and the flocks from a lion and a bear, then ending Goliath of Gath was already a done and concluded matter.
It doesn’t matter the devices of the devil, what makes the difference and matters is your knowledge level, the scriptures says in Hosea 4:6 “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge” you exercise authority in your area of knowledge. To be knowledgeable about God is to be in a safe zone. You don’t give the devil any attention. In verse 47 of 1Samuel chapter 17 “And all this assembly shall know that the Lord saves not with sword and spear: for the battle is the LORD’S and He will give you into our hands” the difference between David and others was the word, God’s word is the solution for any challenge in life. It pays to know the Lord and to trust Him for deliverance at all times. Jesus has already defeated the devil, with this truth and understanding, you must stop magnifying the devil because he is powerless and not a match for God, never will and can never be.
Prayer of the Day: Father in Jesus’ name, as I apply myself to the study of your word, help me to be filled with power, wisdom and courage. I say the right words at all times, I will not be cowed into admitting and saying anything that doesn’t accommodate the supernatural abilities of God. Amen.
