1 And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house. And straightway many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive them, no, not so much as about the door: and he preached the word unto them. 3 And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four. 4 And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay. When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee. Mark 2: 1-5 KJV

We might have the same need, but our desires for it will vary. The degree of your want is what will influence the steps and the actions that you’ll take. I have seen students who were highly desirous of good grades but couldn’t pay the price of studying for extra hours. Did they want it yes, but the desire wasn’t strong enough to confine them to their books for longer hours, because if you really want it you’ll pay the price and do everything within your power. God will always look out for people who go the extra miles in a genuine way to get what they want. Ordinary doesn’t produce sound results; extra-ordinary is what makes the result outstanding. The story in the anchor scripture above clearly indicates the length anyone who truly desires a change will take with God. Beyond the need for it, you must really desire it badly and press for it with all you’ve got.

How graced was the one sick with palsy, to have people who would see to it that he got healed. They pressed and showed a high level of believe and trust in Jesus. Surround yourself with people who will push you and help you to achieve your wants. If you have faith that everything and anything is possible, you’ll never give up on achieving your goal. Faith in God will make you do the unthinkable and dare the unrealistic, the result which is always positive, because God has never failed those whose trust are in Him. When your desires are not genuine your push will yield no result.

Today’s Thought: “Desire for a need is measured by how far one can press and insist.”

Keynote: Go the extra mile, do it differently and be determined to work until it pays.

Counsel: Have faith and don’t give up. Accept responsibilities and never shy away from difficulties, face it and beat it down.

Prayer: Help me to apply myself fully to my life’s pursuit in the name of Jesus. May nothing discourage me from reaching the finish line and I receive the grace to trust You more and more Lord. My attempts will bring me success in Jesus name, amen.
