14 And David said unto him, How wast thou not afraid to stretch forth thine hand to destroy the Lord‘s anointed? 15 And David called one of the young men, and said, Go near, and fall upon him. And he smote him that he died. 16 And David said unto him, Thy blood be upon thy head; for thy mouth hath testified against thee, saying, I have slain the Lord’s anointed. 2 Samuel 1:14-16 KJV

With your words shall you be justified. If the motive of your heart isn’t right it will influence your action and in turn become your speech. It is important therefore that any man and woman watch what they think, because if the thought is wrong it will metamorphose into actions and speech that will condemn one. The person David addressed in the above scripture was a man from the camp of Saul who delivered the news of Saul’s death to David.  The man’s imaginations made him harbor evil motives, he probably must have told himself, “if I can deliver the news to David and tell him I killed Saul, he will make me part of his advisors or appoint a royal role to me.”

His motive was what gave him the boldness to take the action of going to David to tell him the death of Saul and lied on top of it that he killed him. Beloved watch your motives, are they right or are they after self-glorification and after the things that God hasn’t given you yet? Actions are products of motives and speeches are products of motives as well. If the man only delivered the news correctly, he wouldn’t have died, and who knows David might have worked with him. Don’t ever seek for your gain in the midst of another man’s calamity. Act accordingly and don’t struggle to get what hasn’t been handed over to you yet, above all watch your intentions and speech, and your actions will be without guilt and error.

Today’s Thought: “Words carry life and death, what you’re thinking will determine what your word is wishing you.”

Keynote: With our mouth condemnation can come. Be guided and speak wisely with pure motives.

Counsel: Make sure that anything you want to do is with a clear mind, don’t allow your gain to cover your actions, think about everything and have a balanced opinion.

Prayer: Every temptation of taking credit of what’s not mine is rejected in the name of Jesus. I receive the grace to be truthful, help me Lord to think rightly and may my actions be the ones that will give me life and not death and destruction in Jesus name.
