But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word. Acts 6:4 KJV

As a believer you are required to have a balanced Christian life that will empower you. You ought to pray, study the word of God, be obedient, sing psalms and worship the Lord and do all that is required. Nobody will read the scripture for you because you like praying. They must go hand-in-hand if you want to have the best experience. The early apostles understood this very well, and knew how to rightly divide and balance their fellowship with one another and their service to God. Don’t neglect any area, all of them are important, do what you ought to when you are alone, and do what is required when you’re in church, don’t confuse both to mean the same. Don’t make the duties you do at church become the only thing you do at home to enhance your walk with Good. When you’re in church you function with the duties of the group, but when you’re alone you function as a priest of God; one who will study, pray, obey God, live holy and judge everything from the perspective of God. It is when you’re able to practice all that is required personally that you gain access to the things of God and as you continue in the process you equally gain mastery with the things of God. What you do for God in church is part of your personal service to God and it shouldn’t be mistaken as the only thing you do for God to bless you.

Today’s thought: “Sometimes what is meant for general progress is not good for personal development.”

Keynote: You are required to serve God completely and personally by fulfilling all the requirements.

Counsel: The efforts you put personally when no one is watching you is what makes the bulk of your Christian experience. Develop your personal study and prayer life, in all let your personal fellowship with God be well-rounded.

Prayer: Father help me not to make my duty in church or my gift the only practice of my walk with You. I receive the grace to be a well-rounded Christian that will be sound in the full knowledge and expression of God, amen.
