Look at the birds! They don’t worry about what to eat—they don’t need to sow or reap or store up food—for your heavenly Father feeds them. And you are far more valuable to him than they are.  Will all your worries add a single moment to your life? “And why worry about your clothes? Look at the field lilies! They don’t worry about theirs. Yet King Solomon in all his glory was not clothed as beautifully as they. And if God cares so wonderfully for flowers that are here today and gone tomorrow, won’t he more surely care for you, O men of little faith? “So don’t worry at all about having enough food and clothing. Why be like the heathen? For they take pride in all these things and are deeply concerned about them. But your heavenly Father already knows perfectly well that you need them, and he will give them to you if you give him first place in your life and live as he wants you to. Matthew 6:26-33 TLB

The unmerited blessings of God is what has been translated as favor today i.e. getting what you didn’t deserve to have. The favor of God has nothing to do with skills or expertise. It is simply being blessed with something your strength has not given you. Like the scriptural focus rightly pointed out the provisions of God to His creation. We should take a deep thought, pause and reflect how valuable you are in the eyes of our maker. People who are up there in life are not there because of how special they are; it is simply a function of God’s provisions, mercies and favors. And I see the favor of God resting on you.

There is no single person that God does not care about, but you must first know and understand your privileges in Christ. This understanding is what makes you not to worry about the issues of life and provides you with the comfort and covering you need to go ahead. Jesus was not particular about anyone in the passage. He was directly referring to individual persons, whoever cares to comprehend; the provision is available and accessible to all. In fact He was addressing you personally. I see the favor of God giving you what no man can. God’s care for you is permanent. Don’t give up on God. Verse 33 carries the responsibility for attracting the favor of God. This is seeking Him and giving God the first place in your life.

Today’s thought: “It is not everything that we own that we are qualified to have.”

Keynote: God is always there to assist you even when you don’t see Him. God is always near you.

Counsel: Trust in God no matter what life throws at you, don’t lose sight of God.

Prayer: I pray for me today that nothing in this world will take the place of God in my life. I decree the favor of God upon my life in Jesus’ name, amen.
