Now the word of the Lord came to Jonah the son of Amittai, saying, “Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry out against it; for their wickedness has come up before Me.” But Jonah arose to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord. He went down to Joppa, and found a ship going to Tarshish; so he paid the fare, and went down into it, to go with them to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord. Jonah 1:1-3 NKJV

It has been established that the awareness of direction doesn’t command obedience all the time, because when the direction doesn’t appear like what was expected, people with less conviction and who think they can talk God out of His plan fail to obey divine direction. This is the case of knowing what to do but avoiding doing it and this is the genesis of trouble in life’s journey. For some other’s the challenge is not knowing which way to go and what to do, they are completely clueless of which way the Lord is leading them, this is understandable and most times redeemable, like Dr. Paul Enenche will always say, “nothing is too bad that cannot be corrected.” No matter how directionless a life can be it can be corrected when awareness which is light appears. The assignment before us today is learning to obey divine direction. To avoid the direction of God is to accept the misleading of life that introduces frustration, stagnation, loss of joy and peace, disaster and ultimately death.

The verse above was an express instruction (direction) from God to Jonah, but like King Saul, Jonah disobeyed God and tried to run away from the assignment of God. The Bible said that Jonah paid the fare to run away from God, the meaning of this is that when you send yourself and direct yourself you bare the financial burden alone and finance is key that sustains any form of direction, I can categorically tell you that without divine supernatural supplies that cover those who walk in obedience, your personal money will be exhausted and will never be enough. When you know the will of the master, no matter how unfavorable it appears, accept it and let God be God in your life, God does not fail.

Today’s thought: “If you want God to sponsor you, obey His direction.”

Keynote: God’s provision covers His direction.

Counsel: walk in direction and never try to replace the leading of God with something else.

Prayer: In the name of Jesus, I receive the anointing of full obedience to the leading of God upon my life. My spiritual eyes are open to see, my ears are opened to hear and I will not miss any leading of the master, amen.
