Then said his wife to him, do you still retain your integrity? curse God, and die. But he said to her, you speak as one of the foolish women speak. What? Shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips. Job 2: 9-10 KJV

Man can be influenced to be either good or bad, depending on each person’s receptiveness. They are people whose advice contains evil, they’re masters at leading people astray. Evil suggestions are littered across every segment of today’s society. The internet, newspaper, social media handles and then humans themselves are all agents used to suggest evil to people. Any occult person was introduced to the power of darkness via suggestion. When you’re in your most needy moments be very careful whose voice you pay heed to. Job’s wife was the voice that could have destroyed Job completely. She asked him to curse God and die. Instead of consoling her husband she suggested evil to him.  Her suggestions indicated two things. Firstly was for him to sin against God and secondly was for him to commit murder. She didn’t care about his eternity. You can always identify evil suggestions when the advice aborts your chances of making heaven. If it can deny you the opportunity of making heaven, reject it immediately.

Evil suggestions are real and it has ruined a lot of lives, because of the evil suggestion of Jonadab to his friend Amnon the son of David, lives were destroyed and cut short 2 Samuel 13. Tamar, the victim of the evil suggestion, remained desolate afterwards. People who fall to evil suggestions that come to manipulate the heart are oftentimes not established in God yet. When your stance is not known you can go either the way of good or bad. For instance, Joseph already knew his position with God and he was a dedicated servant and one who was obedient to the laws of God. His established belief in God saved him from succumbing to Potiphar’s wife according to Genesis 39. The fear of God in Job was the shield that protected him from committing sin against God despite the disaster that befell him and despite the wicked suggestion from his wife, he retained his integrity.

Today’s thought: “Evil acts are always suggested by individuals.”

Keynote: Evaluate every suggestion. If the attempt of it will deny you of heaven, don’t do it.

Counsel: Let every suggestion be tested by the word of God, what does God say about this? If you know what God says, what the suggestion says will be easy to discern. Think of the long term effect as well and know the Bible, study it to observe its teachings.

Prayer: May my ears never hear the information that will destroy my life and opportunity of spending eternity with You in the name of Jesus. I receive the grace to resist evil and live for You O LORD. In the name of Jesus I will not miss it, amen.
