16 These six things the Lord hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him: 17 A proud look, A lying tongue, Hands that shed innocent blood, 18 A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that are swift in running to evil, 19 A false witness who speaks lies, And one who sows discord among brethren. Proverb 6:16-19 NKJV
The basis for a continued relationship is defining what each party likes and dislikes and abiding by them. These things can either be known via shared communication or through personal discovery of the other person. The process of discovering what people want is the most difficult in understanding the makeups of people. However, we serve a God who has clearly defined what He expects from us if we are to have a robust relationship with Him. God didn’t hide it, and this is an indication that He wanted you to know how to behave towards God and men. The Bible verses above clearly states what God dislikes. In order to be effectively used, helped and graced by God one must practice what God wants and not what you feel He wants. The Lord hates haughtiness which is a deliberate attempt to show others that you’re superior and more important than them; He hates arrogance and snobbery people. He hates lying, murdering, plotting evil, eagerness to do wrong. a false witness and sowing discord among brothers.
Today’s thought: “God has clearly defined what He expects from you.”
Keynote: Don’t practice what God clearly dislikes.
Counsel: Let the word of the Lord be the standard of your living,
Prayer: Father in the name of Jesus, I pray that your word will guide my heart into all truths and help me to always practice Your words in Jesus’ name, amen.
