Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did before time. Daniel 6:10 KJV

Conviction will always project continuity of practice. When your practice is discontinued because of a direct confrontation with your person, the conviction was never there at all or it was never researched and equipped with more knowledge to turn it into a belief. Every day people face confrontations in various forms that arrive to test, frustrate and in some cases to cause humiliation. Your stand in the face of these confrontations will determine what your outcome will be. Trying to dance to the tune of the confrontations or challenges will never make you an honourable person. Bending to the demands of confrontations will make you lose your voice in times of importance. You won’t be able to correct the ill that you accepted. Recently, I was trying to secure an admission for a close family member and the administrators contacted me and suggested that I should pay some certain amount of money in order for the admission to be guaranteed. I turned down the request and towards the end of the process; I was able to preach to him without any shame, because I didn’t deny my faith from the beginning. My stand gave me the confidence to talk to him about upright-living and honest earnings.

Daniel stood his ground despite the wicked gang-up and the penalty of death that was issued to condemn anyone who will be caught praying to the God of heaven. He continued in his practice of prayer despite the challenges. For most of us, we are oftentimes thrown into confusion whenever we are facing trials and temptations, we quickly abandon our faith and give more attention to the problem, rather than standing firm on our beliefs and practices. Daniel maintained his actions and continued in his faith despite the trouble and he came out bigger and gained promotion. John the Baptist on the hand, after being locked up in prison, became angry with Jesus for not coming to save him and questioned if Jesus was truly the Messiah. Matthew 11:1-5; 14:1-11. God will never leave those who cling to Him in times of trouble.

Prayer of the Day: Lord I thank You for this word today. May my confidence in You never put me to shame. Show me help in my daily endeavors and disappoint the devices of the enemy so that their hands cannot perform their enterprise. In Your will my victory be established today in Jesus Mighty Name. Let your help be my portion this day.
