26 And David spoke to the men that stood by him, saying, What shall be done to the man that kills this Philistine, and takes away the reproach from Israel? for who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God? 32 And David said to Saul, Let no man’s heart fail because of him; your servant will go and fight with this Philistine. 1Samuel 17: 26;32. KJV

Victory starts in the mind, if you haven’t won the battle in your mind and in your head you’ll never win it in reality. The mind is the greatest weapon of man; its abilities are beyond imaginations. Some people are perpetually low in life because of how they think and behave, your mind has the say of how your everyday will look like. If you think right, God steps in whereas when you think low, defeated, disabled, not-good-enough, and disfavoured you keep the help of God away from you. God’s help inhabitants in a positive mindset. If your mind is not defeated no amount of life’s threat and pressure will keep you away from your prize.

What you get out of life and become is a reflection of your mind and how you think and see God. The first step in thinking right and having a sound mind is by engaging in realistic evaluation of the situation, gathering intelligence regarding why the issue is the way it is. When you are through with gathering intelligence like David did with the army, then judge the situation from the perspective of the word of God and not with the reality at hand. Realities are facts and facts change in the presence of God by His word. Your gathering of intelligence is mainly to identify if the situation at hand defies the ordinances and words of God concerning your life. David didn’t just run out to Goliath to kill him, he gathered information and came to a conclusion from his information that the Philistines and its giant are defying God and His army. The moment he established it in God’s word in Exodus 14:14 when God said He’ll fight for the Israelites and the covenant of blessing those who blesses them and cursing those who curses Israel, David’s mind became charged and filled with victory as was indicated in verse 32 of today’s Bible reading. If it is in the word of God you can and will do it.

Prayer of the Day: I declare and decree, that my mind is alert and receptive to the words of God. I shall work in the authority of God’s word and not controlled by the happenings of life. My mind will not work against me in the name of Jesus, with my mind I’ll think positively and manifest the goodness of the LORD. I AM VICTORIOUS! I AM VICTORIOUS! I AM VICTORIOUS through Christ that strengthens me, amen.
