For the children of Israel walked forty years in the wilderness, till all the people that were men of war, which came out of Egypt were consumed, because they obeyed not the voice of the LORD: to whom the LORD swore that He would not show them the land, which the LORD swore to their fathers that He would give us, a land that flows with milk and honey. Joshua 5:6 KJV
Those who obey God are never rejected, abandoned and denied their inheritance, but those who disobey God will be put to shame and hindered from accessing their inheritance. We serve a God who is direct with what He wants and how He wants His word to be regarded, but unfortunately, some people prefer to tell God how they will respond to His words, they’re not willing to obey God if the going gets rough or whenever an enticement to sin comes forth. Are you part of this class of people that disregard God’s word? Do you take God for granted? Imagine an entire generation disobeying God and He swore against them. The rebellious attitude of the Israelites toward God is still displayed by some people today. People sin at will without thinking of the repercussions.
Do you want to see the promises of God fulfilled in your life? Then you must live in full obedience to God’s word. There’s a prescription of life from the word of God, and those who administer self-medications to themselves always miss their stand with God. You must be glued to the words of God and not to the demands of the world nor to the urge of sin and evil. Your heart must be permanently in awe of God; that is how you bury disobedience. Sin prevented an entire generation from accessing the promise-land and for forty years they were going round circles and none of them stopped to ask questions and re-trace their lost steps back to God. The Lord wants you to pause and have a deep reflection of your life today, Am I obeying God? Is my obedience full or half? Have I by chance used God’s word to justify my evil acts and intentions? If you’ve disobeyed God and you’re living in sin or your life doesn’t please God, please be bold and pray this prayer right here.
Prayer of the Day: Help me LORD to love and want what You want. May my desires be channeled towards your will, give me the grace to live how you designed my life to be and help me to live how I ought to live.
