Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. Psalms 139: 23-24 KJV
The motives and intentions of man are highly regarded by God. It doesn’t matter how sincere and good your request might appear, if the motive is wrong it cancels everything. I’ll recommend the Bible verse above for daily use and declaration. We exist in a time with so much distractions and these distractions can make us lose focus on the actual reason why we want or need something from God. Could it be that jealousy is the reason why you need a car? Are you trying to prove a point to someone? Are you in competition with someone? These self-attracted needs are corrupters that hinder answered prayers from God.
Two things come to mind when prayer is not answered. Firstly, is time, God is waiting for His perfect time to give you what you need/want. Secondly, is wrong motive, this to me is the enabler of the first point. Because until the motive is corrected you’ll never see the perfect time of God. David understood the power of positive motive early enough in his walk with God that was why he excelled very well. When you put God first in every request, and centre it around His glory and use, the supply must surely be released. Whatever venture it is, factor God inside and let your mind accommodate how you’ll use it to promote the gospel and the good news. When this standard is met answers come without stress.
Prayer of the Day: Search me Lord and see that my motive is right. Remove every wrong intention from me in Jesus name. Let it be all about You. Less of me and more of You Lord! Sanctify my motive and make me ready to receive from You. I pray for you today that the spirit of understanding and knowledge to know what to do rests upon you mightily in Jesus name. Your answers are released to you!
