The Lord by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens. Proverbs 3:19 KJV
Wisdom is knowing, simply put it is the ability to know what to do in order to gain a favorable outcome. Understanding is knowing how to apply knowledge. If you know it and don’t know how to apply it, it is the same as not knowing it, because it is only what you apply that can yield fruit. Knowledge not used is wasted knowledge. The Lord demonstrated the place of wisdom, by creating the earth, but it was His understanding that established what He formed. The challenge in life is not attaining glorious heights, the major challenge is maintaining and sustaining the heights. Another challenge is not remaining at the ground level, the main issue is the lack of knowing, because if you know what to do you’ll leave where you are to where you are supposed to be.
Time and again I’ve walked into offices and at the point of being attended to, I realized that some staff don’t fully understand the services that they are rendering and are practically doing nothing to improve their knowledge about their roles and the organizations they work for and this is how inefficiency creeps into many organizations. Whatever role you’re performing take-out time to get educated about it, because you can only defend what you know and real genuine lasting success comes when men have understanding. Wisdom will show you the way, but it is understanding that will tell you what to do along the way. Never jump into anything that you don’t understand yet, your defense is your understanding.
Prayer of the Day: Father, I thank you for this day. Help me Lord to be filled with the spirit of wisdom, and engrace my life with the spirit of understanding at all times in Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
