While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew’s house, many tax collectors and sinners came and ate with him and his disciples. When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?” On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. Nothing activates your choices and gives you the power to use it at will like the Christian faith. Christ gave us access to everything if only we can agree to subscribe to Him. Highlighted is the phrase in verse 10b of today’s scripture: ‘many tax collectors and sinners came and ate with him and his disciples.’ The point derived from this is that the sinners decided to seat with Jesus and His disciples for a meal. They would have taught otherwise and rejected the invite, but accepted to come despite their lifestyle which I suppose they knew was wrong. Don’t allow self-guilt and what people think of you keep you away from accessing God, it really doesn’t matter what others think when it comes to taking a step toward God that will change your life. You need to understand that you must make an attempt to ask for His help in your life. He was already seated at Matthew’s house before the tax collectors and the sinners came. Christ is forever waiting to welcome us if we decide to come.
Beloved there is an open door willing to accept you, His words say ask and you shall receive. It is very possible that you’re not an offender of the law, but look at it from this angle, i.e. how many times have you accepted the invitation of Jesus into your life, your steps, choices and decisions. It doesn’t matter how bent life can be, there is always a spot for everyone with Jesus. If there is a need in your life and a question you don’t know how to answer, Jesus is the ever present help and solution in times of need. His coming was to satisfy your needs. Make haste and take a step to always be on the same page with God.
Today’s thought: “Solution to a problem is more effective when the problem is identified.”
Keynote: Jesus wants to make you happy if you give Him the chance to come and make His desires to be revealed in you.
Counsel: Avail yourself to God. Don’t wait to be cajoled before you pursue God.
Prayer: Father in the name of Jesus I ask that I be found wherever You are, doing what is right. May nothing keep me away from accessing the love that You have for me, and teach me to use my days wisely so that I might please You in all I do.
