And when the tempter came to Him, he said, If You be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. But He answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. Matthew 4:3-4 KJV

Identity is our confidence, strength, uniqueness and authority. It is the sum total of what you believe. Identity is what makes you not to be mistaken for another, and it is very important in the fulfillment of destiny. To lose identity is to wipe out destiny. Like Jesus, we must be resolute in the defense of our identity. Identity is always under attack from the devil, which is why we must be on our watch not to give in to the cunning deceits of the devil. The enemy challenges identity to make people lose their confidence and when confidence is lost, realization of one’s dream becomes slim.

To Christ, the tempter said, ‘if You be the son of God, turn the stones to bread.’ Jesus never compromised His identity. He openly and without delay declared His identity to the devil. Never compromise your identity for anything otherwise destiny will become watery and vulnerable to defeat. Projection of your destiny is the key to preservation of destiny. There will be direct confrontations to your identity, and you must directly resist the confrontation in order for your destiny to be safe. Don’t allow yourself to be mistaken for what you’re not or forced to demonstrate what will add little or no value to you and others. You don’t need to define yourself to someone that already knows you, doing it is foolishness. Place the devil where it is meant to be, you are the one in charge and not the enemy.

Today’s thought: “Your identity is your selling point, to compromise identity is to give away your relevance.”

Prayer: Father, I receive the grace to inquire through diligent search and desperate prayer to know who I am and then receive the grace to protect my identity at all time in Jesus’ name, amen.
