Now there were four men with leprosy at the entrance of the city gate. They said to each other, “Why stay here until we die? If we say, ‘We’ll go into the city’—the famine is there, and we will die. And if we stay here, we will die. So let’s go over to the camp of the Arameans and surrender. If they spare us, we live; if they kill us, then we die.” 2 Kings 7: 3-4 NIV

God’s servant of blessed memory, Archbishop Benson Idahosa, once said, “It is risky not to take risk.” If you want to survive you must learn to dare things, people who chase after things with the mindset of, “if I perish, I perish.” always turns out to be victorious in life. The world calls it risk taking but the Bible calls it the demonstration of faith. No one can please God without faith. You must do something and refuse to sit back and put your fate in the hands of another person. Leprosy is synonymous to abstinence from people. In the olden days leprous people are regarded as unclean and therefore, they stop having physical contact with normal people and are relegated to the backside, left to fend for themselves with zero help and to die lonely.

With this overwhelming rejection the four leprous men in the verses above, agreed to try and did something about their survival. It doesn’t matter who has rejected you or how unfairly life and people have treated you, today is another opportunity for you to believe that God is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. Today is another day to believe that it will work. It’s another opportunity to launch out into the deep. It’s a day to trust your instinct and allow God to lead the way. Dare to believe and refuse to be hindered because of past failures or even fear that it won’t work or fail. The thing is if you never try you’ll never know if it will succeed or fail. Do your part and let God do His. If the leprous men didn’t move, starvation would have killed them, God rewards genuine work, trust Him and you won’t be disappointed.

Today’s Thought: “Life is a reflection of the decisions we make and a display of the responsibility we feature in.”

Keynote: Use your brain all the time; don’t allow a particular standard to cloud your judgment. Be willing to dare the impossible.

Counsel: You can only defeat what you confront or face.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, baptize me with the spirit of might, the grace to act the intentions of my heart that will help me. I cancel the spirit of fear and I declare and decree that my face will be lighted and I will not be put to shame. In Jesus’ name, amen.
