The Lord comes forward to pronounce judgment on the elders and rulers of His people: “You have ruined Israel, my vineyard. Your houses are filled with things stolen from the poor. How dare you crush my people, grinding the faces of the poor into the dust?” demands the Lord, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. Isaiah 3: 14-15 NLT
Judgment is an unavoidable end of every one and no leader no matter how great will escape or boycott the judgment of the Lord. An ordinary citizen will give account of his personal life and activities to God but a leader will give account of his personal activities and that of those he was leading. Any time I remember the heaviness of responsibility that is attached to leading others I cry for those who handle it shabbily and treat it as a moment to enrich oneself or prove that you’re better than others and as a means to maltreat others. Power is transient but your record is not transferable to another, the record you leave behind is what will speak for or against you on the judgment throne of God. If you can’t lead and lead well, resign and do other things, don’t serve because of the monetary gain, serve because of the impact and the life’s you’re touching and serve to make things better.
Today’s thought: “Every leader both great and small will one day give account of his ruler-ship to God.”
Keynote: Every act will be brought to judgment. If you misuse the corporate wealth of others, God by Himself will deal with you.
Counsel: If you don’t have the heart for people don’t bother leading others. If you’re usually against progress and good things make sure you reject any opportunity to lead until you change that character.
Prayer: Help me to serve well and to always give my best dear Lord. May I truly care for the people and organization where I work. May my responsibilities never cause another to miss it in Jesus’ name. It is well with you and all that concerns you, amen.
